The Power at the Pool of Bethesda!

“Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.” (John 5:2)

The scene of Jesus healing at the pool of Bethesda was an example of God’s grace and mercy on a man who had been lame for 37 years. Many people who were sick came to this place for what they believed to be healing waters. Quite a collection of miracle seekers gathered over time and the numbers continued to grow but with no results. The water carried no secret powers but was just another religious weak symbol but then one day the true holy water in the form of Jesus showed up. His purpose was revealed. Not until then did these desired miracles come alive. The waters were not quickened by the stirring of angels as tradition had told it but it was the power of the Holy Spirit working through the true healer named Jesus who made a man walk again.
